Fees at a glance
The management of the Tanah Lot attraction publishes its prices on its own website. When we read that page on 23 October 2026, foreign visitors paid IDR 75,000 per adult and IDR 40,000 per child.1 Indonesian visitors paid less: IDR 30,000 for an adult and IDR 20,000 for a child between 5 and 10 years old.2
Those are the only official figures we quote. Rupiah prices change, and the Ministry of Tourism, which repeats the same list, warns that the rates can change at any time.5 If you read a different amount on a travel blog, it is either older or not from the management. Pay at the counter and keep the ticket until you leave.
The ticket gets you into the Tanah Lot area, which the official site gives as 28.58 hectares of temples, houses, gardens, parking and rice fields along the shore.6 The price list names no separate charge for the smaller shore temples such as Batu Bolong or Batu Mejan; extra fees apply to things like the Kecak show, which is sold separately.1
On arrival
If you arrive by scooter or car, the same official list sets the vehicle charges: IDR 3,000 for two wheels, IDR 5,000 for four wheels and IDR 10,000 for six wheels.3 The parking area is large, spanning 2.77 hectares, and the official site points out clean restrooms and hand-washing stations around the grounds.1112 Scooter and car drivers should keep the parking slip together with the temple ticket until they have left the grounds again.
Photographers should read one more line. The management asks anyone planning a photo session, a drone flight, filming or another commercial shoot to report to it first.13 A holiday snapshot on your phone is not what this means, but a pre-wedding shoot or a drone over the temple is.
Bring cash in small notes. The art market on the walk down sells shirts, sarongs, hats, sandals, paintings and statues, and the highland loop advises carrying cash because some places take no cards.14 A sarong bought there doubles as your temple wrap for the rest of the trip.

Entry fees are included on that option of the tour.
Its standard option leaves out the entrance.
The show listing sells versions with and without it.
It depends on the listing, and often on the option within it. The full-day tour booked on this site includes entry fees only if you choose its inclusive option; otherwise it asks you to bring cash for the entrance fees. That option also covers its other stops, so compare the difference in price with the sum of the tickets you would buy yourself.
The half-day sunset trip leaves the entrance out of its standard option. The slow highland day states that entrance fees are not included at all. A private small-group day that pairs Ubud with Tanah Lot asks guests on its standard option to bring around IDR 320K in cash for all the entrance fees of the day.
The Kecak ticket at Tanah Lot is sold with or without the temple ticket. Its listing repeats the same official rates: IDR 75,000 and IDR 40,000 for foreign adults and children, IDR 30,000 and IDR 20,000 for Indonesian ID holders. Buy the version that matches what you already have.

Here we have to be careful. The official price page does not print opening times, and the Ministry of Tourism says the visiting hours of the area can change and that you should check the latest information from the management before you set off.4 We do not repeat the times that circulate on blogs, because none of them comes from the management itself.
In practice the question matters most at the ends of the day. If you want the sunset, you need to be inside before the light goes; if you want the quiet early morning that the Ministry of Tourism recommends, you need to know when the gates open.15 A message to the management through its official website, or a question to your driver the day before, settles it.
On a tour the operator plans the timing. The full day booked here also says that later start times can mean fewer attractions, so ask what your start time covers if Tanah Lot opening hours worry you.
Tanah Lot is an active temple, and the Ministry of Tourism asks visitors to respect the rules on clothing, photography and access to sacred spaces, above all during ceremonies.16 Parts of the site are sacred space reserved for religious activity, with restrictions set by the management and the temple custodians.17
The full-day tour booked here spells the Tanah Lot temple dress code out for its stops: clothes that reveal the shoulders, underarms, back or knees are not allowed at some sites, the rule is strictly enforced, and you should bring a sarong, scarf or sweater to cover up. It also suggests a long-sleeved shirt and long trousers on its packing list.
Compare Uluwatu, where the management hands out a sarong and sash to every visitor at the entrance for free.18 Do not count on the same service at every temple. A light sarong of your own weighs nothing, dries fast and works at every stop of a temple day.
Families pay noticeably less for the younger members. The official list charges IDR 40,000 for a foreign child against IDR 75,000 for an adult, and for Indonesian visitors it sets the child rate at IDR 20,000 for ages 5 to 10.12 The list does not say from which age a foreign visitor counts as a child, so ask at the counter if your children are near the line.
The site itself is easy with children as long as you watch the edges. The shore path has low walls above the water, the reef is slippery when the tide is out, and the crowd thickens towards sunset. The Ministry of Tourism asks every visitor to follow the tide, the waves and the safety instructions of the management.19
Toilets and hand-washing stations are spread around the grounds, which helps on a long day.12 Children usually enjoy the legend of the guardian snakes, and the museum at the entrance gives them something to look at before the walk down.207 Bring water and a hat for everyone; shade is limited on the cliffs.
Plan to stay a while. The area holds more than the famous rock: the Majapahit Museum at the entrance introduces the history of the site, and the shore path leads to Batu Bolong, Batu Mejan and Enjung Galuh.7102122 The official site also lists a Sunset Terrace north of the temple.23
Check the tide before you go if you want to stand at the foot of the rock, because it can be reached on foot only at low tide.9 At high water the ticket still buys you wide views from the cliffs.
And if your tour has no inclusive option, set rupiah aside for the gate before the day starts; the listing booked here says to bring cash for the entrance fees in that case. It saves a search for an ATM on the way.

IDR 75,000 for a foreign adult. Children pay IDR 40,000; Indonesian visitors pay IDR 30,000 and IDR 20,000 (official list).12
From IDR 3,000. IDR 3,000 for a scooter, IDR 5,000 for a car and IDR 10,000 for a six-wheeler.3
Only on some options. The full day booked here includes it on its inclusive option; the sunset trip's standard option does not.
Check with the management. The Ministry of Tourism says visiting hours can change and to confirm before you go.4
Shoulders and knees covered. Some sites strictly refuse bare shoulders, underarms, back or knees; bring a sarong or scarf.
Report to the management first. Drone flights, photo sessions and commercial filming must be reported in advance.13
They can, at any time. The Ministry of Tourism notes that the official rates can change at any time.5
